Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada

You are going to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada which is on Vancouver Island. There are vehicle ferries available that leave from Vancouver, BC, Port Angeles, WA and Anacortes, WA. If you want to rent a bike when you get here, you can take a passenger ferry from Seattle or fly into YYJ (Victoria Int’l Airport).

** Note: The only ferries that will get you to the ride on July 27 leave at 6 & 7am from Tsawwassen (Vancouver) on BC Ferries. If you are not on one of these ferries, you must arrive on July 26 (see options below).

The Pilgrimage starts early on the morning of July 27th. Therefore, all riders traveling on U.S. ferries or who are flying in and renting bikes will have to be here by July 26th to make it on time. BC Ferries from Tsawwassen (Vancouver) is the only travel option that leaves on the morning of the ride. Please pay close attention to the schedules below so that you can organize your trip accordingly**

Coming up from the U.S.?

  1. Is your passport valid?  You will need it to cross the border into Canada. Please give yourself ample time to cross the border by checking the border wait times at the Blaine-Peace Arch Crossing via Seattle.

   2. Check the Canada Border Services Agency website on the latest border requirements, wait times and yes it’s legal to smoke and buy weed here, but you cannot bring it with you from the U.S!

3. Lucky you! The exchange rate is CDN$1.34 for each $1USD.

FERRIES WITHIN CANADA
this is the only ferry that operates early on the morning of ride (July 27)

BC FERRIES- Tsawwassen (Vancouver) to Swartz Bay (Victoria) + travel time: ONE WAY: approx. 3 hours

The ferry ride itself is an hour and thirty-five minutes long however, it takes approximately 45 minutes to get from Vancouver to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal. Once you’ve made it to the island plan another 40 minutes to get to Island Motorcycle Co. The good thing is that motorcycles get preferred treatment to the front of the line on the ferry! But high tourist season does bring a lot of riders and they do cut it off at a certain point. Avoid rushing & worrying and book a hotel with one of our partners so you can attend the Kick-Off Party on July 26th!

July 27th - The Pilgrimage Ride Day

*Recommended* 6:00 am ferry from Tsawwassen (Vancouver) to Swartz Bay (Victoria)

allows for breakfast, registration, gas up, mingle, map preparation, pee break, re-pack, relaxation

6:00 am - leaves Tsawwassen (Vancouver)

7:35 am - arrives at Swartz Bay (Victoria)

7:40 am - disembark ferry

8:25 am - arrive at Island Motorcycle Co. (Victoria)

*Speedster Option* 7:00 am ferry from Tsawwassen (Vancouver) to Swartz Bay (Victoria)

Don’t like that 6:00 am start time? Planning on eating ferry food anyway? Don’t mingle before noon? Never get lost? Don’t need gas? Ok. Take this ferry, peel into Check-In at 9:30, grab your map and make sure you’re ready to roll between 9:45-10:30 depending on your ride ability.

FERRIES FROM THE U.S. - only take these ferries if you’re arriving on July 26th since there are no early morning ferries that would arrive in time for the ride on July 27th.

BLACK BALL FERRY LINE (the Coho) - Port Angeles, WA to Victoria, BC

**IF TAKING THIS FERRY, YOU MUST ARRIVE ON JULY 26TH**

There are 4 ferries a day that run from Port Angeles, WA. just 3 hours north of Seattle. This is a much smaller ferry and is extremely busy in the summer. I advise making a reservation well in advance for this crossing. The ferry ride is 1.5 hours of absolute beauty sailing through the Salish Sea. You arrive in the heart of downtown Victoria which is easy access to motorcycle rental company, hotels & Wheelies Motorcycle Cafe.

WASHINGTON STATE FERRY
- Anacortes, WA. to Sidney, BC (Victoria)

**IF TAKING THIS FERRY, YOU MUST ARRIVE ON JULY 26TH**

The 2019 summer schedule for this ferry isn’t up yet but historically it has left at 8:25 am from Anacortes, WA and arrived in Sidney, BC (Victoria) at 11:05 am.

THE CLIPPER - *Walk On Passenger Ferry Only* - Seattle to Victoria

**IF TAKING THIS FERRY, YOU MUST ARRIVE ON JULY 26TH AND RENT A MOTORCYCLE LOCALLY**

This is a fast ferry for passengers only, from downtown Seattle to Victoria. This option is for those who want to rent a motorcycle when they get to Victoria. It’s a beautiful 2 hour 45 minute trip. They also offer accommodation deals but book early as it will be high season.

VICTORIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - YYJ

**IF YOU’RE FLYING, YOU MUST ARRIVE ON JULY 26TH AND RENT A MOTORCYCLE LOCALLY**

The airport is about 30 minutes highway drive to downtown. You can take public transit, taxi or shuttle into town. If you’re staying at HOTEL ZED they might pick you up in their sweet VW van.
